Yesterday was a very special day. A day to give thanks to God once more for Our Lady's YES. A feast of remembrance that she comes to us again and again to bring us closer to her Son.

I recently acquired a lovely print of an original painting of Her embracing St. Juan Diego as he knelt before her asking her forgiveness. It was at that point that she reminded him:

"Do not be troubled or weighed down with grief.

Do not fear illness or anxiety or pain.

Am I not your Mother?

Are you not under my shadow and protection?

Am I not your fountain of hope?

Are you not in the folds of my mantle?

In the crossing of my arms?

Is there anything else you need?"

Our Lady of Guadalupe, Our Lady of the America's help us to understand the awesome promise of these words of yours. Help us to know that you always carry us to your dear Son in your own prayers for us, in your own heart pierce so often, in your own hands, which held him as a tiny infant.

Dearest Mother, thank you for keeping me in the folds of your mantle for all these years and allowing me to be born on your feast day. As I celebrate my birth so many years ago on that special day dedicated to you, help me once more to always thank your Son for the life he gives to me and for sharing you with me in such a special way.

So, Mother of God, it is such a pleasure when someone says to me 'Happy Birthday' to be able to say from my deepest heart...Thank you Mother! for loving me so much.
