Title: Miscellaneous

Anybody notice the new www.iccec.org webpage and the updated pic of +Adler?

Also of note, Dcn Andrew Culver, his father and two churches in the State of Washington have left the CEC. Culver was the iccec.org webmaster and I've noticed that a couple of links to websites on the national page are now down.

Blessings,
Samwise

Well, hmmm.
Today (Monday) the picture has been changed again.
Yesterday was an odd picture of Adler with unruly long hair and the notorious blue plastic glasses.
Is somebody still watching us?
Blessings,
Sam

Oh, I rather expect so!

I noticed that picture yesterday and my initial reaction, as a former PR guy, was, how could they put that shot on the web site. It surely wasn't flattering, especially for the "Patriarch" of a denomination. Todays is a lot better image for sure.

And yes Sam, we are still watching, I for one would like to see positive reports and Our Lord's Blessings on those who remain in the CEC

I thought he was going on sabbatical. Guess not.

Is it just my monitor, or is Adler's face very red in the new picture? I missed the old one. Just my luck.

Haven't heard anything about it . . .

The film is about William Wilberforce, I believe, the Englishman who labored to stop slavery in the UK.

What is of note is that his son, an Anglican, converted to the Catholic Church and was a friend of St. John Cardinal Henry Newman.

Please forgive if this sounds rude, but it almost seems like what you are saying is that what this man did to stop slavery is not as important as the fact that his son joined Rome.
It would seem to me that what this man did was from a heart of God and has nothing to do with his son later becomming Roman Catholic, as nice as that is.

Just my opinion.

The first sentence had nothing to do with the second, hence the space given. The first being a statement about the movie itself and the second being an added note inconsequential to the first. There was no confusion intended, just a note of how men of great conviction, knowledge and wisdom will find there way into the Catholic Church! A similiar scenario was acted out in the lives of Francis and Franky Schaeffer :)

Which is more important: The end of physical slavery of perhaps millions or the repentance of one man and the end of his spiritual slavery?

Now that is a tough question. Comments anyone?

Moderator's Note:

Greetings, all, and a blessed Ash Wednesday to all of you.

After mutually conferring, David B. and I have agreed that the CEC discussion has served its purpose. All CEC threads will be closed. If the CEC happens to come up in another discussion, that is fine -- but there will be no more threads exclusively devoted to the CEC.

Blessings,
