Title: So what is to be done?
Description: a place for AAFC Forum post-CEC

Since the closing of the CEC specific discussions on this list I have been REALLY disappointed by the way things have died off here.

There are things to be discussed, and smart posters here to offer intriguing and relevant, thoughtful insight.

With the begnining of the Lenten season it may be the case that many here are abstaining from internet activities, or spending more time in other spiritual efforts. That is laudible and understandable.

But it bothers me at least a little bit, that when the CEC is not in focus, the attention and activity here goes down.

I know that many were hurt, many had things to say, and this was a good place to talk about some of those things. But truly, this is a great place to talk about a good many things.

This forum is reminding me of a college party after the keg dries up. It really does not have to be that way.

so what is to be done?

Be still and know that He is God. He does whatever He wills.

Trust and obey God.

Pray for His will to be perfected in our lives.

Be vigilant always.

Good Morning SS,

People have moved on and yes it is Lent and many probably are just no longer interested. I for one hope all of us can do this during this time of reflection...

So lets move on and also reflect on what the Lord has done through this here forum that David and David had graciously allowed us to come and process out loud here..... Many blessing to all and yes it is only

37 DAYS AND COUNTING TO HOME IN ROME :D  ;)

Good morning, Simple!

Good points. I have been very busy as of late so that I am unable to contribute. This will be the forum I read when I get time.

Blessings to all.

My friend,

I agree with you completely. There is much of value which can be discussed here. I hope and pray that good dialogue upon subjects of interest and import will continue. I, myself, am hoping for some critical discussion regarding my work on the Eucharist, as I hope to "perfect details" and publish the complete paper with tables and footnotes at some point. I truly believe that one can tell a great deal about the trajectory of a church/denomination by examining the liturgy used, and it would be interesting to see this conversation continue.

Blessings,

SS,

I agree with you here. I really appreciate what you have said. Ironically, it was the CEC discussion that often kept me from the forum. True, I would weigh in periodically, but in truth I'd really like to talk more about where we are going than where we have been. I applaud David Z. for choosing to shut the conversation down. It was a wise, and I may say, pastoral thing to do. It was much needed. Whatever venting and conversation that was needed has taken place. It had become a thing where we simply rehash the same old information and thereby perpetuate our bitterness and retard any healing.

So why have I been away? Well, I am taking two online courses and it is Lent, as has been mentioned. So I am trying to use my time wisely. But I will say that I personally would really benefit from a discussion during this season of how we practically walk in the way of the cross. If there are any takers, perhaps we could open a new thread on that topic and discuss it. But I will leave that for others to see if there is that interest.

Peace to you all my brothers and sisters! May the Lord lead us in the way of the cross in order to give us the hope of a better resurrection!
